Page Stuart was appointed to the Board of the NRCB in June 2017, and is currently Board representative on NRCB’s Policy Advisory Group.
A fourth generation Albertan, Page holds a Bachelor of Science in animal science and an MBA from the University of Alberta, and is pursuing a certificate in administrative justice. Her career has spanned agricultural and environmental policy, research, and business management with a visible track record connecting rural and urban voices.
Page’s extensive experience in the livestock industry includes time as co-owner of a successful commercial and purebred cow-calf operation, and manager of a large confined feeding operation. A professional agrologist, Page has a demonstrated commitment to science-based agricultural research, from early years working for Alberta Environment in environmental toxicology, to significant contributions to value-added environmental initiatives in the cattle and biofuels industries. Her belief that businesses can maintain profitability while championing environmentally sustainable practices has been evident in numerous advisory and elected volunteer capacities, notably as Alberta Cattle Feeders’ Association chair, Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef Council member, and Alberta Strategic Advisory agricultural representative for Work Safe Alberta. Page was instrumental in the establishment of the industry-led provincial safety association AgSafe Alberta.
Page currently volunteers as board chair of the non-profit organization The Family Centre of Northern Alberta and performs as a cellist and soprano in Alberta’s vibrant arts community.
