Decommissioning & Temporary Suspension of Manure Storage Facilities

If an operator is considering a permanent shutdown or decommissioning of a confined feeding operation, AOPA's regulations require all manure to be removed within one year from the time the manure storage or structure ceases to be used, unless the operator is advised by the NRCB of a different time period. Operators considering this option are asked to contact their nearest NRCB field office to discuss their individual situation.
