Background

On March 4, 2024, Alberta Environment and Protected Areas (EPA) advised the proponents (TransAlta and Evolve Power) that an environmental impact assessment (EIA) report is required. The project is also reviewable by the NRCB under the water management project definition in the Natural Resources Conservation Board Act section 4(d).

Current Status

Awaiting the proposed Terms of Reference for public and government reviewers' comments.
