NRCB approval NR 2021-01 of Springbank Off-Stream Reservoir Project authorized by order in council
The NRCB has issued its signed form of approval to Alberta Transportation for the Springbank Off-Stream Reservoir Project.
On June 22, 2021 the NRCB issued decision NR 2021-01, finding the Springbank Off-Stream Reservoir Project in the public interest.
An approval issued by the NRCB under the Natural Resources Conservation Board Act must be authorized by the cabinet of the Government of Alberta and is in addition to licences, permits, or approvals required by other acts or regulations. Through Order in Council 283/2021 dated October 6, 2021, the Lieutenant Governor in Council has authorized the NRCB decision finding the Springbank Off-Stream Reservoir Project in the public interest.
On October 19, 2021, the NRCB issued its signed approval to Alberta Transportation, the project proponent.
