MD of Acadia and Special Areas Board Joint Irrigation Project - Update

On October 10, 2025, Alberta Environment and Protected Areas (EPA) sent the final Terms of Reference for the environmental impact assessment (EIA) for this joint irrigation project to the proponents, the MD of Acadia and the Special Areas Board. The NRCB worked closely with EPA and other government experts to develop the Terms of Reference.

The next step in the regulatory process is for the proponents to submit their EIA. The NRCB’s public interest review process will commence when the application has been reviewed by both EPA and the NRCB, and any deficiencies have been addressed by the proponents.
